NEW MARKETING VEHICLE FOR ACCOUNTANTS?

Waiting for a call from that next client-to-be? Will it be a referral from a happy client or a banker contact? Or will it be someone who just called 1-800-ACCOUNTANT?

A way for accountants to obtain that prospect reached the airwaves on February 1, when 1-800-ACCOUNTANT began its television ads that target high-fee generating services such as business accounting, estate planning, and financial planning.

The business, according to president Howard Kass, airs a minimum of 300 television commercials per month in each of its local areas, between 7 a.m. and midnight. An accountant who wants to participate buys "shares," which translate into a certain number of telephone calls forwarded by the routing system.

When a potential customer dials 1-800-ACCOUNTANT, the router automatically directs the call to the next subscribing accountant. *
